Watch Your Mouth

You ever have a bad day and began to complain about it? You're not feeling too well so you speak about it? Get down on yourself? Verbally doubt yourself? Expressing yourself is a natural thing to do but we must be careful with what we are saying. Your tongue is very powerful. In the bible, James 3 teaches us this lesson. The book gives examples of small things that have mighty power. One example is the bit in the mouth of a horse. This powerful beast is controlled by a small object in its mouth. So are we controlled by our tongue. Another example is how a forest fire begins. It only takes a small spark to start a fire which can consume hundreds of acres of land. The same is true about our tongue. All it takes is one negative comment and that can spread and cause you to doubt yourself or negatively impact a situation. The saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me", is not accurate. Words can hurt and words can impact a situation either positively or negatively. What you say will come to pass. If you are negative and say that something isn't going to work, you can't be surprised when it doesn't work. We must faithful speak things into existence. If you want to live a certain lifestyle, say it out loud. Say to yourself who you are and what you want, and watch it begin to happen. If you truly believe, it will come to pass.
